July reflection

Today we have been doing out July reflections.

I found it easy to download the picture and put it onto my July reflection.

I found it hard to keep up with the teacher.

Next time I would change the way I presented it and maybe put some of my own pictures on.

Report writing

This week our teacher gave as a cut up report to put into paragraphs.
We had to use adjectives, specific nouns and subject specific vocab (words)
Next time I would rethink the paragraphs and change some.
In the report we stuck to 1 topic in each paragraph.
The report included a classification, habitat,description and dynamic fact.

Gravity - Explanation Writing

What happens when you spray a hose?
The water comes down with the force of gravity.
Gravity is the force that keeps us on the ground and pulls objects to the ground.
Boinks are a flexible spring action toy. If you squeeze a boink and let it go it will go flying up. With the force of gravity it will fall back down.
If you invert a dropper popper and drop the dome down with a ping pong ball, it will fly back up
into the air and then eventually gravity pulls it back down.
Force means to pull  or push acting against an object.
No matter where you throw something, it will come down with the force of gravity .

This week I was learning how to  paragraph. I had to do my sequence ideas in order, stick to one topic in each paragraph, use line breaks between paragraphs and use correct punctuation.
Next time I would change what the base of my explanation was.
I found it tricky to write the explanation and post it on my blog because it was hard to use all of the success criteria.

Homeophomes

WALT recognice homophones
The words there, their and they're are often confused.
There is used to refear a place
They're is a contract meaning they are
Their means belonging to them.
I found it hard to get the corrent
I enjoyed  marking it and learning what a homeophone was.

Cousins

This week I was learning how to use a hook. We had to use uicy verbs, similes and also different sentence starters.
Next time I would change how many similes  I used and what they were.
I found it tricky to voice type so I just screencast instead.
I found it easy to to wright the whole thing by myself.

As soon as we arrived I played a long game of sleeping queens
with my loud and noisy cousins. My little cousins fell asleep halfway through the stressful game.
The game felt as long as a humpback whale.
Trying to wake them up with Frozen music  from the Frozen soundtrack,it worked , but they did not like it.
When the game was finished we went to go jump on the soaking wet tramp at 8 which at that time was pitch black.
Punching and kicking each other, it was like a mini fight with my cousins.
Next we ran inside to get ready for joke hour which is something my cousins do in their house.
Here is a little joke for you (what did the pirate get in it's test: high Cs )
There were as many  jokes as lotto tickets.
Uncle Matt did an extremely funny dad joke which made me
laugh my hardest.
It was as funny as a dolphin clapping.

Mysteries

Today I was learning how to  think of something craftive and write a story around it.
Next time I would change the problem and write a different story based on a different mystery.
I found it easy to think of the problem but hard to think of the solution.
I hope you enjoy the story and think it is interesting.
Because I loved it so much and I wanted to write more.

Electricity

                                                   Circuits and Electricity

Did you know that an electrical circuit makes a radio work? Electricity is really important to our lives because we use it everyday in radios as well as in phones and in computers.

A circuit needs a battery and some wires to connect to whatever you are trying to get power to. You also may need a switch to turn the circuit off and on. A circuit may also have a resistor to reduce current flow.

Current flow means when the electricity circles around the circuit to the radio or lightbulb, or whatever you are trying to power. A switch lets you turn your circuit off or on. If the switch is closed there are no gaps and the electricity can run around the circuit. If the switch is open there will be a gap in the circuit and the electricity cannot jump over the gap.

We use electricity to do our work and contact our friends and whanau and cook our meals and do our washing. Can you imagine what life would be like without electricity?

I found it tricky to find the pieces and how many I needed

Lockdown diary

I was learning how to take a photo and put it on slides.
Next time I would change what I appreciate about the people.
I found it tricky to think of something that I appreciate about them.

Making huts!!!

 We are learning how to use specific nouns, use juicy verbs and adjectives.
I found it tricky to use a similes.
Next time i would add  more powerful verbs.


Making huts
When I was little ( I still am )I played hide and seek tags and hang upside down on huge monkey bars, but most of
all I love making huts with Thomas and my four best friends Morgan Isabelle and Eva C and last of all Arabella.
blankets covered the chairs that guarded us from other teams. The bible's weighed  the blankets down.The pigs clipped the blankets on to the chairs. Then the bickering started.
“I said don't bust our hut!
“I AM NOT!!!”
“BE QUIET!!!”
“STOP!!!!”
there was a silence for a minute and then Mrs Naden said “BUST YOUR HUTS NOW!!!!!”
we did not want to bast our hats because we were having so much fun.That was making huts.

The three wise brothers!!!

I like Trip trap! The three wise brothers heard a noise as they were walking down a dark, spooky and lonely path until they came to flowing crystal clear river it was close to midnight, but there was no bridge for them to cross over so they made a bridge with their powerful magical wand,“abra ca dabra! abra ca dabra!” with a flash there was a bridge that quickly appeared. In front of them the path was blocked by a hooded figure standing in front of them. Next death gave them 3 wishes 1 wish for each brother,  The first brother wished for a time turner necklace ,the second brother wanted a brand new broom,the third brother wished for a cloak of darkness, so death gave those three things to the three brothers.

How to make amazing dumplings!!!

 How to make dumplings
First you buy the pastry from pak n save and then make the filling with meat,spring onions and carrots and next them together to make your filling. After that you get the pastry and get some water and draw a circle around the pastry with the water.Next you get the filling and put a teaspoon in the middle of the pastry.

If you put too much it will overflow and your dumpling won't be as yummy when you fry it. Then you fold your Dumpling in half and squeeze it tight.after that get a pop and put some oil in the box and wait till the top heats up and then put the dumplings in and then wait till about 5 to 10 minutes until you take them out.
Next count to 40 and then get some soy sauce and some sweet chili sauce that you can dip them in. Go for it eat them now and you can stick them in the soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce.

The day we got green gold!

The day we got the Silver Certificate Evoiro School!
The day before the school went out and tidied up all the  rubbish for the silver reflection day. I was in the reflection team.We did a welcome for Kirsty and Kauri.It was terrific.The boys did the haka. They sounded like thunder. After the welcome the we took Kauri and Kirsty down to the awa with room six. Then we went to the bug house. After that we went to the water tank which I was talking about with Kc. Next two lades  came from the gisborne herald. Kauri tapped me on the shoulder two go with the gisborne herald lades to get a photo with the chickens. Me and Marshall hat to try and catch the chickens.The chickens  were as fast as an airplane! We caught one of them but it was very hard. It was the little chicken. She was as loud as a little baby crying! After that we went to the healing garden. I was talking about the healing garden with Josh,Catalina,and Zeva. I talked about the different plants and how they are healing plants. Some of the plants healed sunburns,cuts,and eczema. Then we went to the peace poles I was talking about  them with Zeva. Zeva was just supporting me because the person who I was meant to be working with was away. During the middle block we walked around some of the class rooms and finished the walk around the school. The Silver reflection team got a sheared lunch in room 11. There was ready salt chips,mini marshmallows,grapes,strawberries,camel slice,sagge rolls,cucumber, and carrots. After lunch we went to all the classrooms for about five mins. Then we went back to room 11 where  we were split into four groups with an adult in each group. Then Kauri and Kirsty came around and gave us silver sentences. When we were finished them Kauri and Kirsty asked as to go  and sit around the bunch tghen she gave as green gold

Bee report!

 Bees! Bees are living insects and bees are from the hymenoptera family which is from the same family as spiders. Bees have 5 eyes 2, large compound eyes and 3 very small simple eyes that you can not see. Bees are yellow and black because to warn danger.

Bees look fluffy but they aren’t fluffy it is their hair. This hair catches the pollen in their pollen baskets found on their hind legs and when they fly to another flower the pollen falls off and pollinates the plant. Bees are found all over the world.

Bees die after stinging someone.The most common place bees life is in a beehive. They are born into a sell. But they are eggs first. They can sting if they sense danger! Did you know that one bee collects pollen and then vomits it into another bee's mouth.

That bee vomits into another bee's mouth. That vomits it into another bee's mouth. That last bee vomits it into the honeycomb. Then they flap their wings to dry the nectar out and then it turns into honey. So we are basically eating bee vomit because bee vomit is honey. But honey is delicious two.

Magic growing ballons

For my science fair I was in a group with Jordan and Sinoe.Our title was Magic Growing Balloons and our topic was growing balloons.Our question was why does baking soda and white vinegar react? I enjoyed doing the experiment over and over again.Our background was a science themed background.

The Glowing Rainbow Forest

One magical hot bright windy autumn day, there are some glowing owls in the air. The creek is a flowing galaxy blue and the trees are a bright glowing yellow. In the middle of the forest there was a bang! Crash! Lily a bright white owl was owl softly perched high in a tree trunk. There are camouflaged frogs lying down being lazy. In this world they have rainbow straw. In the straw there is a mother rabbit with very cute brown with white spots.She has 50 baby bunnies underneath her. They are playing sleeping with each other or hiding in the trees or bushes.Then with a flash a owl swooped down incredibly fast and landed softly on a mossy rock next to the river. This was very, very close to the ocean. In fact you could see the ocean! It was a 5 minute walk to the ocean. You could see foxes, bunnies and horses grazing in the luscious long red and orange grass.

After that Lilly the owl followed the monkey down to the ocean to go for a swim and a surf. At the beach they met a girl called Jazzy. Jazzy was saying that she had seen a ginormous green and purple crocodile trying to eat owls out in the ocean. “So be careful out there. I would not want you to get eaten, because you're my friend and you're so kind to me.” Said Jazzy

“But we just met you,” said Lilly and Monkey.

“I do not care if I just met you” said Jazzy. “I am a kind kid and I would not want anybody to get eaten. I love people the minute I see them.”

“Thanks Jazzie. We’re off for a swim and a surf.”

And that’s just what they did together.

Meanwhile the mother rabbit and her baby bunnies were basking in the beautiful shining sunlight. The hot burning sun baked down on the mother rabbit and her babies and they snoozed. After her swim, Lilly the owl spots that she can swoop down really fast and steal the whole family of bunnies. Then she thinks to herself, “Should I do it? Yes I should.” Then she swoops down incredibly fast and gobbles them down one by one. Yum yum!

Lilly then spots a wolf cub and says “Oh no”. Because she thinks, don’t wolf cubs eat owls? If the wolf eats me, then she will also be eating the whole bunny family and then she will say what I said- yum yum!”

Just then there was a loud snap!

“Aaahhh. The wolf cub just ate me. But why am I still alive?”

Then Lily hears a grumpy ugly voice that says “You are alive because I have magical powers. I am really an evil witch who was disguised as a wolf cub, so I could capture an owl like you.”

Then she realises that she has not been eaten. She has just been captured.

“Do you know that you are not just eating me but also eating a whole family of bunnies?” The bunnies I ate have just jumped out of my tummy! For the bunnies also had magical powers!”

The evil witch did not answer Lilly. Lilly then asked the bunny family if they knew the evil witch.

“No, we do not.” Said the bunny family.

Then Lily says “Do you think we are going to her beautiful rich castle. That would be a great place to live.” The evil witch heard her.

“There are guards,” She said. “Because I go out killing animals all day long. I forgot to say that there is no food or water. You have to die! One more thing. There are 100 dog zombies that are green and slimy all over your room and there are bars on all the windows and doors.” Then the witch gave an evil laugh and flew them all to her castle on her broomstick.
